The three-day International Conference on the topic “Spirituality: The Essence of Ethical Leadership & Management” held from 22nd to 24th November, 2014 at School of Management Sciences, Varanasi. The conference was organized by Centre for Spirituality and Human Enrichment (a centre of SMS Varanasi) in association with Claflin University, USA. The inaugural day of the conference witnessed the presence of Chief Guest Prof. R K Khandal (Vice-Chancellor UPTU-Lucknow), President of the function Prof.A D N Bajpai (Vice-Chancellor Himachal Pradesh University-Shimla), Prof.B P Singh (Ex-Head and Dean, Delhi Scool of Economics & Chairman DSPSR) and Prof. S K Singh (ICCR Chair-professor, University of Pokhra-Nepal). Also present on the occasion were Prof.P.N.Jha (Director, SMS Varanasi), Dr.M.P.Singh (Executive Secretary, SMS Varanasi), Mr.Sandeep Singh (Associate Professor & Conference Convener) and other teaching and non-teaching staffs of the institution.
Various speakers deliberated upon different aspects of Spirituality, Philosophy, Leadership and management. The speakers included Prof. P.K. Mukhopadhyaya (Ex-Head, Dept. of Philosophy Jadavpur University), Gurushree (founder of Rudra Universe Foundation-Mumbai), Prof. Rana P B Singh (Head, Dept of Geography-BHU), Prof. V. N. Giri (IIT, Kharagpur), Prof. A. N. Tripathi (Retired Professor of Electrical Engineering, IT-BHU & Founder-coordinator of Malviya Centre for Ethics and Human Values), Mr.Navneet Sikera (IPS,IG Lucknow), Mr. V.T. Chandrashekhar Rao (Director –Operations, Foster Wheeler India Pvt.Ltd), Prof. Rajeev Ranjan (Sampoornanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi) and Mr. V.K. Jha (DGM,Punjab National Bank).
The Valedictory Session witnessed the presence of Prof.P.Nag (H’ble Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith and Sampoornanand Sanskrit University) and Prof. K.D. Tripathi (Advisor, IGNCA).
On this occasion, the merit holders of School of Management Sciences Varanasi in the final examinations of MGKVP were awarded with SMS-medals and certificates by the guests.
